Removing the line

Today makes 10 weeks since I had my hysterectomy. I am feeling great! I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy and retained my ovaries. A couple of things happened. Everyone says that you will gain weight, but I have lost weight without even trying. I no longer have food cravings. The other odd thing is that sex is much better and I deemed it great before the … Continue reading Removing the line

My husband asked about Bobbie. It had been a while. I really didn’t have too much to give him and considered lying, because I didn’t want to him to be hurt by her being mostly missing in action. She has shown up on occasion, actually only a handful of times in the last 15 days. Who knows why she shows up and then disappears for … Continue reading Bandwidth

Restoration

I really thought I would write more in my recovery time from surgery. Usually I’m rolling over topics in my head to write about, but my mind has not wandered too much to this blog. My husband has been taking excellent care of me. He has been doing all of the cooking and cleaning and laundry with zero complaints. I have been bored a lot. … Continue reading Restoration

Unpacking

I asked my husband to explain to me like I’m 5 how he feels about Bobbie. We were texting each other about something else and somehow it morphed in a different direction, and even though I know that he loves her still, I wanted deeper into his heart about the situation. I didn’t really have a reason, and my question came out of the blue, … Continue reading Unpacking

Nexus

There is a place in this world that holds a profound significance in the tapestry of my life—a small mountain town that has become the nexus, the epicenter, of my existence. Nestled amidst majestic peaks and adorned with breathtaking natural beauty, this town has witnessed my transformation and served as a catalyst for deep connections, both with myself and with others. It’s the place that … Continue reading Nexus

Genetics or environment?

I was hiking yesterday and thinking about my life while looking at the forest. Trees grow both through genetics and their environment. Trees will bend, grow branches on just one side, grow with deep roots or exposed roots, all depending on what species they are and where they are growing. I was sitting on a log and taking a moment to get a drink and … Continue reading Genetics or environment?

The most exquisite

My. husband and I were out-of-town for the day today, just a few hours from home. It was a pleasant day and a great day to travel a little ways. We had not been in the car alone in a few weeks for any real length of time because the last few times one of the kids was with us. Car time is our most … Continue reading The most exquisite

Head games

Wasn’t it just yesterday I stated that I hoped her vacation wasn’t in the same place as ours? Of course, honestly, I should have known that she would be in the same place. To be fair, not the same place, but the same state nonetheless, which is nowhere near our own state. Since the timing is wrong and the location is three hours apart does … Continue reading Head games

The stranger

When we think about betrayal we automatically think of a violation of trust or confidence, the standard definition of the word. And we almost always think of it in terms of something done to us or something we might do to others. What we rarely do is think of the word betrayal in terms of it being something we do to ourselves. And that is … Continue reading The stranger
